About Theater Tol
An international company that uses the city as its set and the sky as its stage.
Theater Tol was founded in 1998 by Lot Seuntjens. For twenty-five years Antwerp was the home base of this international company, known for its multidisciplinary performances. Today Theater Tol works from Bruges.
The company works with image, play and music, with almost no spoken text. Theater Tol works with detail and poetry, in its own visual and musical language. Reality and fantasy blend into each other.
For each production a core team comes together: costume designers, dramaturgs, sound and lighting technicians, designers, composers, video editors, production managers, musicians, dancers and actors. Theater Tol plays in unusual places: an old factory site, a park, a market square, a beach or a riverbank. Summer and winter, always in the open air. Sometimes a show is made for one specific location, or together with other artists and companies.
In September 2023 Lot Seuntjens handed the torch to a new team: Talitha De Decker, Benjamien Lycke and Lukas Proot. They keep the existing productions on tour and create new work.

A born dancer and choreographer who embraces movement as her means of creation. Her choreographic work for renowned production houses has been programmed at home and abroad to critical acclaim. Leading lady of the Movimento dance school. Versatile, creative, a perfectionist with an eye for detail.
Benjamien Lycke
Composer & managing director
A love of opera, large choral works and experimental cross-disciplinary projects defines Benjamien, who besides contemporary classical music also composes soundtracks for films and games. He conducts not only his compositions but also the company’s administration. An inexhaustible source of creative ideas, at the piano, the computer and behind the camera.
Lukas Proot
Technical & production director
Passionate about everything technology. He started out as a technician and grew into a technical coordinator of major events. He values teamwork on and off the job, with a passion for efficiency, optimisation and a well-organised production.

Founder & inspiration
Founder and driving force of Theater Tol, a creative all-rounder and team player who led the company around the world for many years. Lot stands for optimism, energy and action over words. In 2023 she passed the torch to a new, young team to make room for her career as a visual artist.
